Materials Used For Collectible Horses
April 22, 2009
For as long as there have been collectible figurines, retail outlets and stores have offered the grace and beauty of horses in figurine form. There are a huge variety of these collectible horses available, so the materials and craftsmanship varies widely. One of the most popular forms is glass. While these are decidedly fragile and probably not a great option for children, they are stunning when displayed in sunlit windows. This makes them the ideal gift for the adult horse enthusiast.
Another common material is bronze or other assorted metals. When cast in metal, these figurines are, by far, the most durable. There are also resin figurines available as well as ceramic. Especially these ceramic figurines lend themselves to paint, which means they are often the most colorful and intricately decorated. But regardless of the material used to create the figurine, these collectible horses are sure to delight the recipient, as they all somehow capture the beauty and power of a fully grown horse.
